Katharina is a researcher at the Wuppertal Institute and a research associate at the Global South Studies Center, University of Cologne, where she coordinates the Competence Center Fair Trade. She has recently completed her PhD in Social- and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne and has been working on (peri-)urban agriculture in Cape Town, South Africa. Among her research topics are fair trade, social justice, sustainable food systems, and political ecology.
